About Upolu
Upolu is Samoa's most populous island and the arrival point for nearly all visitors, via Faleolo International Airport (APW) on its northwest coast. The capital Apia sits on the north shore with markets, museums and the harbour. The south coast holds the island's famous beaches — Lalomanu at the Aleipata end, and the Siumu/Maninoa resort strip — plus the To Sua Ocean Trench. Ferries to Savai'i leave from Mulifanua Wharf near the airport. Stays range from beach fales to full-service resorts.
