Jaymy Beach Fales
About this property
Jaymy Beach Fales is a family-run operation in Saleapaga on Upolu's south-east coast, run by Lini, Lasi and family. Recent reviewers consistently single it out as the kind of stay that travellers return home wanting to recommend — for the food as much as the location. The fales are functional and cosy, with mosquito nets and electricity in each, and shared bathrooms reported as clean. Breakfast and dinner are included in the stay and served at one large communal table where guests typically end up chatting late into the evening. Specific dishes regularly mentioned in reviews: lobster dinners, coconut jam at breakfast, freshly caught fish in curry sauce. The beach directly in front of the fales is quiet and feels almost private, with pink-sky sunsets visible from the fale itself. Guests are often welcomed with a cup of cocoa Samoa on arrival.

Best stays in Samoa: where to sleep across Upolu and Savai'i
Samoa's accommodation runs the full spectrum — from US$30-a-night beach fales where you sleep open-air to the lagoon, through family-run boutique hotels in Apia, all the way to five-star resorts with overwater bungalows. Picking the right one depends entirely on what you're after: barefoot authenticity, restaurant variety, or a swim-up bar.
Best stays in Upolu, Samoa
Upolu is where most Samoa trips start. Faleolo International Airport, the capital Apia, and the bulk of the country's resort-tier accommodation all sit here. The south coast (Lalomanu, Lotofaga, Siumu) is the postcard side; the north has Apia and the working harbour.
Best beaches in Samoa
Samoa's beaches are the kind that consistently top "world's best" lists and somehow stay uncrowded. Most are on customary land — you'll pay a small village fee (typically WST 5–20) at the gate, which goes back into maintaining the site. Below: the ones our travellers come back about.

Great location, waking up there felt like waking up in paradise. Great way to experience the Samoan lifestyle and get to know the locals who are truely the highlight of the island. The food was delicious and the hosts super friendly.

We enjoyed our two nights there very much and truly cannot recommend the place enough. The fales are functional and cosy, with mosquito nets and electricity, and the shared bathroom was clean. The beach feels almost private and offers incredibly beautiful views. Our host prepared very delicious and generous breakfasts, and the lobster dinner was absolutely unbeatable. We would choose this place a hundred times over any generic resort. This is the real Samoa.

Lini and his family were an absolute blessing! The Fale was spacious and directly at a wonderful quiet beach. The breakfast and dinner was traditional and incredibly tasty. Besides that you meet a lot of lovely travellers cause you dine at one big table. It is very easy to get in touch even with local travellers and spend beautiful evenings together. We would love to come back one time and recommend it to 1000% to stay there. Faafetai lava!

Best place in Samoa. The owner Lini and the whole family are incredible lovely people. They take care, they do what they love. Clean Fales, clean toilets, very good service. The beach is lovely. Breakfast: always a mix of different eggs (fried, boiled), toast, papaya porridge, coconut cream, coconut porridge. It was perfect. Dinner: different kind of protein like duck, chicken or fish. Salad, rice, sauce. We met a lot of nice people there as well. Played games etc. 10/10 if you are in Samoa!

I stayed 2 nights in October. I absolutely loved this experience, authentic and simple. Hosts are lovely and the food was good. I had breakfast both mornings highly recommend the coconut jam if you get a chance to taste. Had dinner 1 night and was treated to absolutely fabulous stir fry type dish along with fresh caught fish covered in a curry type sauce. I could not fault the food at all and Lini's daughter did a great job. She can cook!

Highly recommend this place. I really enjoyed my stay here, though 2 nights was too short. But we will stay again next time we are in Samoa. The ocean-side fale was great, the people lovely and the Samoan breakfasts and dinners delicious (and lots of it!). I felt very safe there. Fales have a light and power plugs (bring a very long charger cord because the plug is located on a roof beam) I was glad i brought a head torch and LED camping light for extra convenience too. The clean toilets and showers are located a short stroll across the single lane road (which has very little and very slow traffic). Showers are cold which feels absolutely fine in Samoan humidity (tho' shower could be improved with a shower head and somewhere clean and dry to put your clothes, please :-) Make sure to ask for the fale to open on the ocean view side because then you can hang out in your fale during the day in the shade with gorgeous views of the ocean. Bring your snorkle gear because there is plenty to see in the reef in front of Jaymy's. There are also plenty of places to have a beer, coffee, lunch or dinner nearby by car if you wish. You can ask for help to organise a local taxi to get there if necessary.
