Taufua Beach Fales
About this property
Taufua Beach Fales sits on Lalomanu Beach in the Aleipata district of southeast Upolu — consistently ranked among the South Pacific's top five beaches. The traditional and enclosed fales line a mile of white sand and reef-protected lagoon known for swimming and snorkelling, and the on-site beachfront restaurant serves bed-and-breakfast plus an à la carte lunch menu of local flavours. Wi-Fi is available at fales for an additional fee, and the team coordinates day-trip booking for nearby attractions (To Sua Ocean Trench, the Aleipata island chain, Sopoaga Falls).

Best stays in Samoa: where to sleep across Upolu and Savai'i
Samoa's accommodation runs the full spectrum — from US$30-a-night beach fales where you sleep open-air to the lagoon, through family-run boutique hotels in Apia, all the way to five-star resorts with overwater bungalows. Picking the right one depends entirely on what you're after: barefoot authenticity, restaurant variety, or a swim-up bar.
Best stays in Upolu, Samoa
Upolu is where most Samoa trips start. Faleolo International Airport, the capital Apia, and the bulk of the country's resort-tier accommodation all sit here. The south coast (Lalomanu, Lotofaga, Siumu) is the postcard side; the north has Apia and the working harbour.
Best beaches in Samoa
Samoa's beaches are the kind that consistently top "world's best" lists and somehow stay uncrowded. Most are on customary land — you'll pay a small village fee (typically WST 5–20) at the gate, which goes back into maintaining the site. Below: the ones our travellers come back about.

Honestly I would say one of the best places one could stay. Lots of different rooms I stayed in one of the cabins on the hill that had more than enough space for one person, having one single bed and one queen bed and an ensuite. The aircon worked great and veir from the deck is spectacular especially the sunset. Easy access to the infamous Lalomanu beach with multiple beach gales to relax under during a swim. Family owned. I would have to say my absolute favourite part of this would have to be the communal style meals. Everyone who is staying at the fales are invited to eat dinner and breakfast together and they prep the most delicious food!! And it’s a great way to meet others also travelling the beautiful island. I will be back and I’m bringing my village with me next time!

We recently stayed at Taufua Beach Fales and had a wonderful experience that felt much more like a community than a standard hotel. If you’re looking for a place that balances natural beauty with genuine Samoan hospitality, this is it. The Highlights * Incredible Atmosphere: The community vibe here is special. We loved the communal meals—it was the perfect way to meet travelers from all over the world. * Exceptional Service: The staff are some of the kindest people we’ve met. They truly went above and beyond, even holding our baby so we could enjoy our dinner! As vegetarians, we were also incredibly impressed by the effort they put into preparing delicious veg-friendly meals for us. * Prime Location on Lalomanu: You can't beat being right on Lalomanu Beach. It is absolutely stunning, and the swimming during low tide was gorgeous. * Comfortable Family Villa: We stayed in the family villa, which was a large, single room with three beds and a private attached bathroom. A huge plus was the effective A/C, which kept us cool, and the lovely balcony for soaking in the views. A Small Note on Value The only downside we encountered was the maintenance of the rooms. While comfortable and functional, they felt a bit tired and could have been better maintained considering the price point. Overall: The warmth of the staff, the social atmosphere, and the unbeatable location on Lalomanu made our stay unforgettable. We’d definitely return for the hospitality!

Overall stay was great. They are clear from check in no towels are provided and we were aware of this anyways. The food is amazing and so filling, this comes with your accommodation breakfast and dinner. Rooms dont get serviced (we stayed 2 nights in a family villa. The cash power went out and it took them about 20 mins to top up. Great place to catch the sunrise in the morning. Definitely be back

This is a really nice accommodation with plenty of choices of Fales or different room types. The staff really seem to care. They are always smiling and eager to ensure you are comfortable and satisfied. Thank you to all of you! The dining experience is super, setting group tables so no one eats alone and ensuring all the guests meet each other. As a result we met some amazing people from New Zealand, Australia, Germany and the UK. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Stopped here on a drive and decided to stay the day hired a fale for $50 tala and it was perfect. Beautiful beach to swim in hard to believe a tunami had been years ago and taken so many lives. Ppl there so warm and inviting, very clean and tidy spot. We only used fale and ate at restaurant so can't comment on accommodation but I'd imagine it be top knotch too
