  I think food was the biggestt issue inconsistent cooking. What was on the plate. If it was good or not. Soggy fritters or crispy. Covered in sauce or none. Small fish for dinner large for lunch just inconsistent quality all the time. Otherwise great location. Play ground great. Pool nice. Everyone had issues with towels not being replaced in the rooms.

  Beautiful Location, but Disappointing Value for Money Our stay at Saletoga Sands Resort was a mixed experience. The biggest highlight was the location. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow and loved being able to snorkel directly from the property. The water was crystal clear and turquoise, with a beautiful reef and plenty of fish right in front of our bungalow. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not match the price we paid (around NZ$500 per night). Service: Staff hospitality was below expectations. We felt there was a lack of warmth, proactive assistance and basic attention to guest experience. To be honest, some staff were openly rude to guests. Food: Breakfast offered limited variety and was much the same each day. Dinner at the restaurant was also disappointing for the price. Facilities: The pool was consistently crowded, so we preferred the ocean. Our bungalow had only one chair for two adults, and the indoor and outdoor showers had problems with water pressure and hot water when used at the same time. Advertised amenities: Bathrobes and in-room Wi-Fi were advertised but not provided. Staff explained that bathrobes had not been supplied for years, while Wi-Fi was only available near reception and the restaurant, where the connection was weak. We also found the large photographs of nude people along the main walkways unusual and unexpected, particularly in a family-friendly resort. The resort has a beautiful natural setting and excellent snorkelling, but the food, facilities, service and missing advertised amenities made it feel overpriced. With better staff training, improved dining and more attention to detail, the experience could be much better.

  We travelled as a group of nine and stayed in a variety of room types over five nights, including the Deluxe Family Villa, Beachfront Villa, and Deluxe Hotel Rooms. My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay in the new Executive Suite, located in the newer section of the resort. Room We absolutely loved our room. Although there were only two of us, we had a spacious two-bedroom suite that was the largest in the block. It featured a large private patio and was conveniently located close to the new pool. The air conditioning worked perfectly and kept us comfortable throughout our stay. We genuinely couldn't fault the room. Service The service was excellent, and all staff were friendly and welcoming. Special mention goes to Igi, Seiga, Hector, Va'a, and Roma, who helped make our stay enjoyable. The only disappointment was that pineapple juice ran out on our second night and was never restocked during the remainder of our stay. Given that pineapple is a key ingredient in many of the resort's cocktails and drinks, it was surprising that more wasn't ordered, and several guests were disappointed by its absence. Food & Drinks There was a great selection of food available on both the lunch and dinner menus. Our group especially enjoyed the pasta dishes and the oka. The alcoholic slushies were also a big hit with everyone. Fiafia Night Was undoubtedly the highlight of our stay. The live singing was outstanding, the siva performances were beautiful, and the overall atmosphere was fantastic. The food was also delicious. A special shout-out to the chef who made the amazing curry goat! Pools The main pool was great, with a deep end and a swim-up bar that we thoroughly enjoyed. We also spent time at the newer pool, which had a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere away from the crowds. Overall I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking to relax and unwind. It's peaceful and secluded, yet still conveniently located within a 30-minute drive of many popular attractions and landmarks. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return.

  This resort is two words: Pure beauty and peace -We had a group welcome by a lovely lady :) -Spa in this resort is great. There was a 30 min free massage with our booking: -Luisa was one of the best masseurs given me massage. She is professional, kind and great! I’ve had massages in everywhere Ive been many times (New Zealand, Thailand, Bali, Vietnam,…), Luisa is for sure in top 3! She’s an asset for the spa in the resort :) -Tau (reception) was another lovely staff who kindly welcomed us and helped us during our stay; another asset to your team. -And finally (not least): Gavin, the resort owner, who was so humble, kind and welcoming to all guests all the time. Ive never been to a resort that I could be able to easily approach and talk to the owner and manager. -Calm staff and drivers (There was a misunderstanding on one of our day trips and the driver was taking us to Namu’a island however we were supposed to go to giant clams sanctuary. Almost 20 min after we headed, we realised and the driver was kind and made a U-turn and took us to the destination with a good temper and smile -Good breakfast (included) -Good food -Resort area was always very clean -You can do snorkelling “in the resort beach” with free gear provided all the time -Two main crystal clean pools and one kids pool Enough poolside beds and tables Two pool bars and one beach beach bar -Delicious cocktails -Comfortable clean rooms -Very comfy beds and pillows, sparking clean -Very good air conditioner; 24 degrees is perfect to set -Filtered water tanks are available around the resort -Umbrellas are provided in rooms -They let us do a late checkout kindly which was very convenient -No wifi in rooms. But I was there in Samoa for relaxing not working with my phone so I took it for granted and totally happy about it! Also if you want, you can buy a sim card from reception with 15GB data only for 15 Tala! *Some improvement suggestions (which may add the final star) which Im sure they will be done next time we visit here: -Telephone in rooms -Rubbish bin in rooms (at the moment there’s only one in the toilet) -Plates or coasters, (forks and knives) in rooms -Instructions for using safely box in rooms -Notepad and pen in rooms -Checking fridge temperature before guests arrival (our milk and water froze and we then realised and changed the temperature, and was ok after) -A bit of more hospitality training for some staff (they’re truely very kind and lovely people, only a little bit of more training makes things fantastic) -Repair and better maintenance of snorkelling gears -Would be good to sell aloe vera after sun gel and Samoa fridge magnets in the lobby store ;) -Lobby wifi can be a bit improved and being stronger -Provided DVD collection in the lobby needs maintenance and organising Thanks again We really enjoyed our visit

  Great resort in a great location run by great people. We wanted a small wedding ceremony at a resort, but we also had a 2yo which limited our options. Saletoga was recommended by friends and it was a great option. The buffet breakfast that was included was very good/substantial and reduced our total food bill massively. The normal lunch/dinner menus were OK/average – plenty of variety, most of it was really well made (which shouldn’t be understated) but a bit too international, boring and not nearly enough fresh/local seafood for us. The Oka was reliably amazing but the sashimi wasn’t available for the 9 days we were there (I think it would be better to have whatever fish is available, rather than being dependent on a specific type of fish that isn't always available). The themed evenings at the Bungalow restaurant were a bit too late in the day for us but complimented the overall offering and would be perfect for couples. The buffet on the Fia Fia evening was off the charts and a highlight - so much amazing food and shouldn’t be missed. Loads of staff around, most of which are attentive enough (all of them willing to help if prompted) and there were also a number of exceptional staff who bridged any gaps e.g. Hector who was consistently world class and Villy was incredibly helpful. The main swimming pool is huge and never crowded and the in-pool bar normally opens around 10.30am and provides shade. Plenty of UV filtered water stations around the resort were a great help, as was the onsite shop which has mixers (coke, tonic water etc) and ice blocks etc. I would highly recommend to anyone with a young family or wanting an amazing location to get married. We are grateful for the experience and thank you for the memories!

  We were a returning group having stayed last year and absolutely loved it. The pool and resort itself is lovely with an awesome pool and the ocean is great to swim and snorkel. We have no issues a year ago. But unfortunately this time we were really let down by the food with 6 out of 7 of us getting sick from the food. The only one who didn't was a baby that was eating pouches. It's a shame because it's really the only let down but spoiled our family trip as most of us were unwell for more of the holiday than we were well and one of us was pregnant so it was really nerve racking eating after this and there isn't any other good options. The food itself was hit or miss, slow to come out, some nights way to salty to even eat. And I'd quite expensive for what it is. Started eating vegetarian after a few days but that was a bit limited. The fia fia and bbq were good and the menu could be good but we just had it hit or miss depending on the chef I guess. Food and service a bit slow and staff not as friendly as other places we have been. The massages were amazing 😍. Wanted to love it and unfortunately probably won't come back because of how sick we all got. The owner was also very defensive when we informed them and said we were the only ones and that we got it from outside food (we hadn't eaten anywhere else) however we talked to many people at the pool who had people in their group also unwell. She did give us electrolytes and antidiarrheal meds so I'm guessing it aint the first time if they have these on hand to hand out.
