  Landing in Samoa and stepping into Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa is an instant reset button. No stuffy lobby vibes here, just lush palm trees, gentle ocean breeze, and the warmest welcome you’ll ever get. Our villa right on the water was incredible: stepping off the deck for a morning swim in the lagoon, watching sea turtles drift past, and ending the day with fresh line-caught tuna and a cold Vailima at Ava I Toga. It’s laid-back, high-end Polynesian luxury at its absolute finest. The real soul of Sinalei, though, is the incredible staff. Genuine, attentive, and treat you like family from minute one. Whether it’s an open-air massage by the ocean or just having a yarn about local spots to check out on Upolu, everything feels totally authentic. Absolute paradise!

  Beautiful location, lovely grounds and good housekeeping – but very poor complaint handling, restaurant service, and food The Beachfront Villa itself is lovely and spacious, with a sensational balcony directly over the water. The grounds are very well maintained, and the housekeeping staff did a consistently good job. Standard requests at the front desk (such as booking outside taxis) were also handled well. Unfortunately, these positives were overshadowed by significant issues with amenities, complaint resolution, and restaurant operations. We had read critical reviews prior to booking, but could not have anticipated the actual reality. Given the premium rates charged, the value for money is simply not there. Despite the beautiful setting, we cannot recommend staying here.

  We had an excellent time at Sinalei. The staff were super lovely, especially Illy the events manager who went out of her way to help with our strange requests. The kitchen and wait staff were also so lovely and attentive. The food is excellent, the location is fantastic. A beautiful beach with turtles cruising in the bay, kayaks, swimming and snorkeling are all excellent. Ws saw some people heading out to surf as well. Other resorts on the same beach had restaurants as well so you could get a variety of food although not much Samoan food unless you venture futher. We both had a massages and Tiana and Nui were both superb. We both felt super chilled. We had a car and would recommend that for getting to Apia (25mins) or other activities. Overall we had a lovely end to our Samoan adventure chilling out at Sinalei.

  Went to go for lunch for the third year in a row, having stayed next door at Coconuts Resort in an over water villa ( amazing) and wanted to take my adult children for lunch. They wanted to change us 20 tala each to come in. From previous years experience WST 20 is not worth adding to the price of lunch. Go to Coconuts or Sea Breeze where they welcome you and appreciate you.

  Our Virgin flight from Australia into Apia was delayed by a drunken passenger causing trouble who needed to be booted off, so we ended up arriving at Sinalei Resort fairly late on Saturday night. The staff were gracious and welcoming, gave us a quick check in so we could get to the restaurant in time to eat a beautiful Samoan fish dinner. After a big sleep in what we later found out was the same bed King Charles slept in 2 years beforehand, we finalised our checkin. Some complex verbal and email discussions regarding our booking which was made a few weeks prior was easily sorted by Selau, the resort manager, with special thanks also to Amarino. It’s been a rainy first day, but I took on the short par3 golf course in barefoot, had another lazy snooze in “Charlie’s lounge”, played some cards, had an amazing poke bowl for lunch, and we’ll head off for Sunday afternoon church with the locals soon. I write this early message on day 2 of a 7 night stay to offer early thanks to Selau and her staff for adapting to us, and solving a complex booking riddle, and making us feel so welcome in this beautiful country. The crazed guy on the flight made it a hard start, but we feel very much at home. Thanks Sinalei staff. I’m loving Sinalei Resort. It’s very different from the “big Fiji resorts”, and it’s definitely my style - it’s quieter, more laid back, simpler, expansive, but with the same pacific welcome. Looking forward to the sun coming out tomorrow.
