Samoa Beach Resort

About this property
Samoa Beach Resort is a beachfront resort on the western coast of Upolu, set on Entrance Road in Mulifanua — about a five-minute drive (2 km) from Faleolo International Airport, the closest hotel to the airport on the island. The resort fronts a calm Pacific lagoon and looks out toward the Mulifanua reef pass. The property is operated independently by Mulifanua Beach Resort-Samoa Limited (MBRS), the local shareholder group. From January 2026 the resort no longer trades under the Sheraton / Marriott Bonvoy brand. Guests have access to four restaurants, an outdoor pool, a private beachfront, a spa, a fitness centre, complimentary Wi-Fi, on-site laundry, daily housekeeping and 24-hour room service. A free buffet breakfast is served at Apolima Fale daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Best stays in Samoa: where to sleep across Upolu and Savai'i
Samoa's accommodation runs the full spectrum — from US$30-a-night beach fales where you sleep open-air to the lagoon, through family-run boutique hotels in Apia, all the way to five-star resorts with overwater bungalows. Picking the right one depends entirely on what you're after: barefoot authenticity, restaurant variety, or a swim-up bar.
Best stays in Upolu, Samoa
Upolu is where most Samoa trips start. Faleolo International Airport, the capital Apia, and the bulk of the country's resort-tier accommodation all sit here. The south coast (Lalomanu, Lotofaga, Siumu) is the postcard side; the north has Apia and the working harbour.
Best resorts in Samoa
If you want pool, multiple restaurants, an actual spa and a structured kids' programme, you want a resort — and Samoa's resort tier is concentrated on Upolu's south coast plus a handful on Savai'i. Below are the published full-service properties across both islands.
Best beaches in Samoa
Samoa's beaches are the kind that consistently top "world's best" lists and somehow stay uncrowded. Most are on customary land — you'll pay a small village fee (typically WST 5–20) at the gate, which goes back into maintaining the site. Below: the ones our travellers come back about.

This place is amazing! I don’t understand why it would have any bad reviews. We’ve travelled to Samoa a few times and this is the first time we have stayed here and it’s amazing! It’s so relaxing, the staff are all so friendly & helpful, the gym is really well set up (not like a normal hotel gym) the spa & massage is so rejuvenating feeling like you’re in the jungle and by the sea hearing the ocean (unreal experience!) The menu is great for vegetarians. If you’re looking for accommodation that has it all, this place is a vibe 🤙🏽

This place needs to be closed down. We were there last month. Nothing was open. Tennis courts were overgrown along with the children's playground. There was no Spa! The staff said it was no longer open. The bathroom was dirty. Behind our fridge was covered in cockroaches. They didn't even have lager in the bar for 2 of the nights we were there. The staff tried charging us again when we first arrived. Thank goodness I'd got printed proof of payment. The lunch and evening meals were stale or overcooked. The only good thing about the hotel was the breakfast staff and the great breakfast options. We ended up having to book a hire car as it was so bad We would never have booked if we'd known how bad it was. Absolutely disgusting!

Not sure if this Resort is even finished 🤔 Pool with no water....food was disgusting, walking to casino was like walking into a messy abandoned building. Definitely not what we were expecting!! Thought we'd treat ourselves for a night out and a nice dinner....didn't get either.

Definitely not a 5 star, but then it isn’t advertised as one. It’s officially 3 star and is basic and in poor maintenance - but clean. Ideal for a night as it’s close to the airport with a shuttle service. Staff are lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. They try so hard to make it a lovely experience. It’s still a Sheraton under the surface although it’s run by the government now. Beautiful view from the balconies overlooking the beach. Only issue would be lack of coffee in the room and nowhere to get food or drink once the restaurant shuts.

This is one of the worst five-star hotels I have ever stayed in. It is not a "Sheraton"; it feels more like a "Shameraton." If you're considering this hotel, my advice is simple: DO NOT come here. The staff is poorly trained, and no one offered to help us with our luggage. The room was filthy, with mold present in the bathroom. We were not greeted with a welcome drink, and the front desk staff were not welcoming upon our arrival, which felt quite odd. The telephone in the room displayed the wrong room number and seemed to serve no purpose. When I asked the staff to look at it, they informed me that they could do nothing because they were not IT specialists. The linens had strange yellow stains, and the staff appeared annoyed when we requested a change. The floors were sticky, and when we brought it up, the staff said they couldn't do anything about it. Eventually, we requested a room change, but the new room was infested with insect bodies and lacked both a telephone and hot water. I can only describe this experience as a fantastic training ground for ninjas. Then we have no choice but go to the Taumeasina Island Resort- where everything feels so right and so much better!
