I have mixed feelings about this place; Pros: 1. Location is DREAMY. Beautiful serene sand beach sorouned with the dense bush. Truly a piece of paradise. 2. Clean and clear water to swim/ snorkel/ dive. 3. Resort provides complementary snorkeling gear. There are reef shoes etc available too, but they're to be rented. 4. Spa, gym, pool, bungalows, etc all available at the resort. 5. The greenery and gardens are well maintained. You see staff doing rounds all the time picking fallen leaves and coconuts. 6. I should've put this one first: friendly staff. The staff always greet you with an smile and are very laid-back, minus a few, such as the tour desk lady and one of the ladies who sometimes worked at the bar and looked annoyed every time I went to the bar to spend money there! 7. I read a review saying they had issues with hot water. But that wasn't the case for us, had hot water enough for 2-3 people to shower and some. But the pressure is low. 8. If you're not too close to the restaurant noise, it's so quiet and relaxing. There's only ocean sounds and minor random noise from the road only when big trucks drive by. 9. Shops and 3-4 local restaurants are 3.4km away. You can get a cab for 10-15 FjD. 10. The Indian food is really good. We met the chef too, a very nice gentleman who mainly was working in the Indian/ Curry food kitchen. Cons: Overall, it looks like the management is doing a shht job at maintaining this beautiful place, it's really such a shame. It doesn't look like a business they'd want to keep for long or care much about: 1. The Bures need a proper detailing and clean. There's dust and build up everywhere. 2. The gym is practical and has a good layout but it reeeeks and is not maintained. They didn't clean it even after we asked them. Dust it, paint over the rust, and get that smelly carpet steamed! 3. The alter, the grill house, the entrance bathroom, the mini golf course, etc are left to rot. It's not a good feeling staying in a resort where some parts of it are left to collect dust in front of you. 4. There's looots of small repairs to be done around the property. And many things around the rooms and communal areas seem to be at least a few decades old. 5. The restaurant has a different buffet every night, I have to say. But the everyday menu is small and simple. If you're staying for an extended time it can get repetitive. It's also very expensive. The restaurants nearby charge at least 30% less for food and drinks. 6. Pool water is cloudy and dirty. The pool needs a good cleaning, proper scrub, and change of water. We didn't use it once. It's a shame, it's a beautiful pool if it was properly maintained. Overall, we will not be going back there, unless if things are seriously changed and improved.

The resort is big and nice. Very disappointed there was always problems with the water, either not hot enough or no hot water at all. I can totally understand about no tv or wi fi in the rooms but if the weather is bad which happened to us what does one do. This should be an option in the rooms. For $400 Fijian dollar a night, not good enough!!!

My recent 2-night stay at Hideaway Resort was extremely disappointing and unfortunately one of the worst resort experiences I have ever had. Upon arrival, the first impression was already negative. The security officer at the entrance was rude and unwelcoming. Instead of allowing us to briefly stop at the entrance to unload our luggage and check in before parking, he aggressively instructed us to park across the road and carry our luggage ourselves. There was no warm "Bula" greeting, no friendly welcome, and no welcome drink as advertised on the resort's social media pages. Things only got worse after check-in. When we arrived at our bure, the keycard would not work. After several failed attempts, I had to walk back to reception. The receptionist checked the system and insisted the card was activated, then accompanied me back to the room. After multiple unsuccessful attempts again, maintenance had to be called. We were left waiting outside our room for approximately 35 minutes before someone finally arrived to unlock the door. Once inside, the room itself was disappointing. It felt small and cramped, with no television and no microwave. The facilities were far below what we expected for the price paid. On the second day, after returning from a long day out, we encountered the same issue again. The keycard would not work. After another walk to reception, I was told that their system had mistakenly checked me out even though I was booked for two nights. After a lengthy verification process, the card was reactivated. However, upon returning to the bure, the keycard still did not work. Fortunately, I encountered a maintenance staff member who had assisted the previous day and asked her to unlock the room again. Having to repeatedly walk between the room and reception, deal with malfunctioning keycards, and waste valuable holiday time resolving issues that should never have occurred was incredibly frustrating. Combined with the rude treatment upon arrival, this turned what should have been a relaxing getaway into a stressful and disappointing experience. Poor customer service, poor room access management, and a lack of attention to guest experience made this stay a complete disaster. Sadly, I will not be returning to Hideaway Resort and would not recommend it based on my experience.

Great place for winding down. Away from hustle and bustle of life. A quiet place near the beach. Separate bures for each family. You can walk along the beach that is clean with clear blue waters. Lovely place to relax. Easy checkin process.

Great little authentic place hidden away behind road frontage foliage. A little bit of a rumpty building but food is delicious and great value for money. New waiter was obvious but he admitted as much. Nice atmosphere. Not somewhere you’d go to impress but very nice all the same

Exceptional hospitality during the 3-night stay. Didn't treat us (locals) any different. Daily-organized activities were all-age-inclusive. I thoroughly enjoyed the pool volleyball sessions and poolside zumba. They offer kid's life jackets for your little one's pool times. DJs playlist is fiiiire!! In-restaurant food was a bit bland to my liking..but there are restaurants a couple of minutes drive outside the facility,... Overall, 101% recommended.
