Denarau Island sits about 20 minutes from Nadi International Airport, on the west coast of Viti Levu, and it's where most of Fiji's international resort brands cluster — Hilton, Sofitel, Sheraton, Radisson Blu, Westin and Wyndham all have properties here, joined by shared roads and a golf course rather than a public town. Many Fiji trips spend a night or two on Denarau, either side of time on an outer island, since the marina at Port Denarau is the departure point most travellers use for boats out to the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands, and its retail strip is where the island's restaurants and duty-free shops sit.
