  Stayed here for a wedding and, unfortunately, I don’t feel it was worth the price. On arrival we were welcomed with a lei and a welcome drink, which was a lovely touch and gave the impression of a luxury experience. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and even helped carry our luggage to our room. However, once we got to our room, there was a faint sewage smell coming from the bathroom drains. There was also mould on the bathroom ceiling above the shower (Room 510). Under normal circumstances I would have asked to move rooms, but we were travelling with a fussy 8-month-old after a tough flight and just couldn’t face packing everything up again. Our TV remote also didn’t work, but I’m sure that could have been resolved had we mentioned it to staff. We simply preferred not to have anyone coming into the room so definitely a minor issue that most likely would’ve been fixed had we reported it. A highlight was definitely the breakfast buffet. The food was excellent, with the menu changing daily, which made it feel fresh and offered plenty of variety. Most of the staff throughout our stay were absolutely lovely. The only disappointing service experience was at the bar. My husband waited to order drinks but was repeatedly overlooked, while staff were serving other guests at their tables. When he was eventually acknowledged, he was told he had to order at the bar. It felt as though they may have assumed he was a local rather than a guest staying at the resort, which unfortunately left a sour taste in our mouths. After that experience, we chose not to purchase any more drinks there. Overall, the location was incredibly convenient for attending a wedding at the resort, and there were certainly some positives. However, given the room condition and our overall experience, I don’t believe the stay justified the price.

  It was a pleasant enough stay but the standard did not measure up to the cost. Expect more for what we paid. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Location ok of you want to be close to town but not right in it. Food was good, pools are nice and small man made beach was decent.

  From the warm welcome on arrival with Lei's & drinks to the superb location, this hotel was the perfect start to our family holiday. Fantastic location. Close to Apia for the tourist attractions but a world away with a private beach and pools etc. Daily activities for the whole family (e.g. coconut collecting/creaming) or just relax looking out to sea. Great selection at breakfast and easy to eat at the restaurants too. Highly recommend!

  The resort wasn't quite what what we were expecting and not a particularly relaxing place to stay. Cons: *The restaurant and bar was very noisy with loud music every night and a lot of people visiting for meals so it felt like a very busy resort. There were several weddings and large functions on while we were there. *The rooms are very tired and dated. *Service was lacking generally. Eg. We were never offered water at the restaurant, and it would rarely be provided after we requested it. Long wait times for meals etc... We generally had to chase down staff to request food/drinks. Pros: *The omelettes to order at breakfast were great. *The kids loved the pools, and we enjoyed sitting poolside on the covered chairs. *Snorkelling was best at high tide. Not a huge amount of coral or fish but it's a safe, calm area for kids to try snorkeling. *Fia Fia show including fire dancing was fab! *Activities staff were very friendly and helpful.

  Me and my family were here for a 3 night stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I had lost my crossbody bag second day we were there. We searched everywhere. Following morning we walked to the front seat and asked, they had kept it safe for me. That bag had $ and some important documents. Everything was still inside. This is the best resort on island! I would recommend to everyone visiting Samoa❤️

  Unfortunately our experience at Taumeasina fell well short of what we would have expected. When we complained to our booking agent and then to the front desk, they did at least move us from a room near the bar that had live music until 10.45pm. There are so many issues here it’s hard not to write an entire article, the over riding issue is this resort is showing its age. I mean we all need a little spruce up as we get older, but this place doesn’t appear to have had any. Everything is scuffed or chipped or just broken. The 3 legged sun lounger did get fixed, but there are so few on the small beach you’re very lucky to get one at all. The towels are threadbare, the robes thin and mine was stained with make up. The staff seem woefully unmotivated. It took a staggering 40 minutes for two drinks, leaving us 10 minutes to drink them before our taxi came. Sadly the Bloody Mary came without tomato juice so was undrinkable. The daiquiri only needed to be poured from the ice churner into the glass. We were mainly ignored by bar staff, even when they weren’t busy. It could have been the same UB40 sound track that played on repeat for 4 days that was slowly torturing them that makes them so surly. But nobody seems to be overseeing them. The noise from the bar area every night was a complete surprise. Nowhere do they advertise live music, or “ladies night” when you look at their website, if they had this would have been all the red flag we needed to tell us this wasn’t going to be a relaxing, cultural getaway. If kids screaming in the pool all day and adults screaming in the karaoke all night is your idea of a luxury escape then come here. And then the food, oh dear. The food is not good, it isn’t even average. I’ve never experienced such a bizarre array of breakfast offerings. We ate our evening meal here once, on our first night, and then ate out every night at additional expense. We didn’t use our buffet voucher as we already knew it would fall short. In fairness the manager Vamsi did try to make amends and we appreciated his efforts and gestures of goodwill. But a luxurious, peaceful experience this is not. They charge top dollar but are not delivering.
