  Me and my family were here for a 3 night stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I had lost my crossbody bag second day we were there. We searched everywhere. Following morning we walked to the front seat and asked, they had kept it safe for me. That bag had $ and some important documents. Everything was still inside. This is the best resort on island! I would recommend to everyone visiting Samoa❤️

  Unfortunately our experience at Taumeasina fell well short of what we would have expected. When we complained to our booking agent and then to the front desk, they did at least move us from a room near the bar that had live music until 10.45pm. There are so many issues here it’s hard not to write an entire article, the over riding issue is this resort is showing its age. I mean we all need a little spruce up as we get older, but this place doesn’t appear to have had any. Everything is scuffed or chipped or just broken. The 3 legged sun lounger did get fixed, but there are so few on the small beach you’re very lucky to get one at all. The towels are threadbare, the robes thin and mine was stained with make up. The staff seem woefully unmotivated. It took a staggering 40 minutes for two drinks, leaving us 10 minutes to drink them before our taxi came. Sadly the Bloody Mary came without tomato juice so was undrinkable. The daiquiri only needed to be poured from the ice churner into the glass. We were mainly ignored by bar staff, even when they weren’t busy. It could have been the same UB40 sound track that played on repeat for 4 days that was slowly torturing them that makes them so surly. But nobody seems to be overseeing them. The noise from the bar area every night was a complete surprise. Nowhere do they advertise live music, or “ladies night” when you look at their website, if they had this would have been all the red flag we needed to tell us this wasn’t going to be a relaxing, cultural getaway. If kids screaming in the pool all day and adults screaming in the karaoke all night is your idea of a luxury escape then come here. And then the food, oh dear. The food is not good, it isn’t even average. I’ve never experienced such a bizarre array of breakfast offerings. We ate our evening meal here once, on our first night, and then ate out every night at additional expense. We didn’t use our buffet voucher as we already knew it would fall short. In fairness the manager Vamsi did try to make amends and we appreciated his efforts and gestures of goodwill. But a luxurious, peaceful experience this is not. They charge top dollar but are not delivering.

  Had a great Ocean view room with a good size ensuite close to the main reception area but not noisy at all. Entertainment provided every night , great food from the restaurants on site . Only 10 min drive to town . Staff very friendly and helpful , they go out of their way to make your holiday easy. The in house gym and surrounding path around the resort was well used by my daughter and I every morning. The massages at the in-house spa area were wonderful . Definitely book in if you go there . Would highly recommend you stay at this resort .there are very few paths outside of Apia township so walking is on the road.

  PROS 1) Vibe: Activities each day, live music (the Sunday duo in the foyer and guy that played Tuesday evening were amazing), quiz, bingo, karaoke. 2) We paid for a romantic picnic experience on the beach and that was really well executed. 3) Some staff were amazing especially a guy called Alesana, who was very attentive. 4) Incredible sunset. 5) Very close to Apia. CONS 1) Room Type: We got a Deluxe King Oceanview room and not only couldn't we see the ocean, it was just a garden that faced another room). When I went to ask reception they couldn't even tell me what the difference was between a standard Oceanview room and a Deluxe Oceanview room. Please read the reviews, this has been a problem for years and their response 3 years ago after many complaints was "we'll consider changing the names and rates for those rooms" which to this day stay hasn't been done. It's perfectly logical that all upstairs rooms should be deluxe and all downstairs rooms should be standard rooms. Furthermore, you should also separate room types into Oceanview and Gardenview. Why are you overcharging people, we paid thousands of dollars to come over, and it shouldn't just come down to "luck of the draw" to see what room we get. It's actually false advertising and false marketing so Taumeasina you need to address this immediately. When we raised this issue with staff the day after we arrived and asked for an oceanview room upstairs as we were expecting, they said they would get us a new room asap. I had to follow up with them everyday because they never contacted me, didn't even seem like a priority. It wasn't until our 5th night where they moved us to a new room, which was Oceanview but downstairs. 2) Rooms: - Both rooms were very dated, musty, and had mould on the bathroom roof. - Most towels, hand towels, flannels, and beach towels are old, worn, and gross. It seemed like they had some new towels but it clearly hasn't been rolled out to all rooms - Bedding was old and pillow cases stained. The pillows also stunk, so disgusting, probably haven't been cleaned or replaced in years. - Housekeeping also didn't change our sheets once in the nights. And they kept forgetting to bring us new face cloths. - TV had hardly any channels, only good channel they had was Sports. 3) Food: generous portions and some food was nice, but overall was quite average. Buffet wasn't great and seemed food was just being re-used. 4) Pool: Their big pool was under construction and we were only informed about this well after we booked and only a couple weeks before we were due to be there. I will say though that although they didn't openly offer this, when I raised this with them, they did offer a very generous compensation so thank you for this. 5) Massage: a 50 min massage was included in our package. We only got 35 mins and then afterwards the staff harassed us about paying for it even though it was included in our package. I had to show multiple people my itinerary just to prove it was included. Very unprofessional, my itinerary was seen when I checked in so it should have been noted then. 6) Although some staff were good and helped when we asked, we found the staff in general to be quite bad. They would forget our orders so we had to follow up quite a bit, they weren't overly attentive, they forgot to include us in the FiaFia booking so we ended up with a terrible table. Just seemed like a very casual service and not overly professional. It's such a shame because I think this resort has so much potential to be an amazing accommodation option for Samoa!

  Our first time in Samoa and our travel agent suggested this resort. We booked for 2 couples, their 7 nights stay package in the Deluxe Oceanview rooms and our room were in the 200 & 500 blocks. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff at the reception with beautiful flower garlands and cold drinks, making it a special welcome. The view from our spacious bedroom was serene and peaceful - well kept lawn, the coconut trees and the ocean. The resort has great amenities, excellent daily activities, restaurant, bar, pools and a private beach area which was great for snorkelling. Fia Fia Buffet & Show was the highlight of our stay with local food, the dances and the amazing fire show. The staff were all very friendly, always had a smile, helpful and welcoming. A special shout-out to Shirley, Ross, Patrick, Shawn and Simile. Overall, Taumeasina is a fabulous place to unwind and we would recommend it.
