The Robert Louis Stevenson Museum is the restored colonial house at Vailima where the Treasure Island author spent his last four years before his death. The mountain tomb of Stevenson lies above the house on the Mt Vaea trail. The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday, 12 pm to 4 pm, and closed Sundays and Mondays. A full visit including the trail takes approximately two and a half hours.
