Partner and I got to our first room, there were cockroaches in the cabinet and hair everywhere. There were stains all over the bedding aswell. The rooms look like prison cells. Cement walls, no lamps. Rat traps under the bed. The AC unit wouldn’t even work. We switched to a different room, which was a bit cleaner, but still hair and dirt. I would not recommend.

Pathetic service with filthy rooms. Stained bedsheets with molds in bathroom. Dirty washroom area. Porter said can't do much as housekeeping has control when asked to change. Moved from rooms to rooms in search for a better room after arriving for almost an hour. Booked for 2 nights but checked out early morning next day. I don't recommend anyone to stay in Penninsula

Well maintained for the price, friendly staff, great location. Great if you looking to just crash for the night... avoid the rooms in main road as bit of road noise. But good value for money.. the kitchen has really good food.. yet their chilly chicken 🐔 😋

Absolutely avoid at all costs. The place is filthy. There was no hot water for my shower, blood on the bed pillow, previous tenants' hair in the shower, mold in the bathroom, dirty bath towels, the couch had broken springs so you fell into it. The food in the restaurant was overcooked. The bathroom toilet leaked all over the bathroom floor. You are not allowed to bring any alcohol on the premises, so you couldn't enjoy a glass of wine in your room after you finished work. No wifi. No bedside lamps. The staff were lovely on the 1st day, but after I complained the next morning, they were downright rude. Staff arriving for their shifts would yell at each other across the courtyard at 4.30am, waking me up. Was meant to stay 17 nights but checked out as soon as I found another hotel.

Checked in yesterday to what seemed like a decent suite. The only things which were missing were towels which were brought a bit after check-in. Woke up this morning by the AC sounding like a tractor. When I got up to turn it off, I found the floor flooded with water. They wanted to switch us to a room which was a downgrade from our suite, so we decided to wait for another suite to be cleaned. Once we moved to the new room, we discovered the sheets were stained and the curtains were halfway off the rings. When we asked housekeeping to take care of it, she got frustrated and wanted us to force us to move into the downgraded room. We told her it’s a quick fix, and she said she’d come after her morning tea. Still waiting on her to finish her tea. It’s really disappointing because we spent extra on the room of our choice but everything the room has to offer seems to be out of order. I would give them zero stars if I could because we have been met with a lot of problems ever since check in. And service has been lacking where they are unwilling to work with people who have paid for a particular space.

I recently stayed at Hotel Peninsula, and while the experience was generally pleasant, there were a few areas that could be improved. One of the key concerns was the parking space, which was quite limited. Although parking is available in front of the hotel, it is shared with both sides of a busy road. This not only made parking a bit challenging but also contributed to constant noise from passing vehicles, which might be disruptive for some guests. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff at the reception were friendly and welcoming. However, I noticed that the reception area does not have air conditioning, which made it feel warm and less comfortable, especially during hot weather. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay. Housekeeping did a great job of keeping the space tidy, and the amenities were decent for the price. One major drawback was the elevator, which is quite old and slow. Guests staying on higher floors might find it inconvenient, especially if they have heavy luggage. Overall, Hotel Peninsula offers a decent stay with comfortable rooms and courteous staff, but improvements in parking management, noise reduction, and facility upgrades—such as modernizing the lift and adding air conditioning in the reception—would make the experience even better. If you're looking for a well-located hotel and can manage the minor inconveniences, this is still a reasonable choice.
