Alofaaga Blowholes
Natural pool · Savaii · South Coast
Volcanic vents in the basalt shelf at Taga village on Savai'i's south-west coast, where each big swell forces seawater 20+ metres into the air. Locals will toss a coconut into the smaller hole on a good day so you can watch it rocket skyward. Best on incoming tide with a southerly swell — the bigger the surf, the bigger the show.
Asaga River Pool
Natural pool · Savaii · Asaga
River swimming hole near Asaga village — small entry fee to the landowning family.

Peapea Cave (Savai'i)
Natural pool · Savaii
Lava-tube swimming hole at Letui village — a collapsed cave roof opens onto a long freshwater pool bats nest in. Wade in from the shallow end and swim across; the water is cool and brackish-fresh. Village fee includes a local guide who points out the bat roosts. Bring a torch for the deeper end. Slippery rocks — water shoes recommended.

Sapapali'i Village Pool (Vai Taele)
Natural pool · Savaii · Sapapali'i
Community freshwater pool in Sapapali'i — culturally significant; ask permission before swimming.
Vaga Freshwater Pools
Natural pool · Savaii · Vaga
Small chain of village freshwater pools at Lefagaoali'i on Savai'i — a popular community swim spot. Open daily; check at the village for any current access fee.
