Community Spirit Shines Bright on Upolu for a Worthy Cause
A recent charity run on Upolu has highlighted the incredible generosity and community spirit of the Samoan people.

“Ua faailoa e le faalapotopotoga o le Toomaga mo ē Puapuagatia le alofagia e le atunuu o le faamoemoe i le lima foa’i ma le aao māfola o tagata a o faagasolo le taufetuluga na amata mai Tuanaimato i le nofoaga o le Campus of Hope ma aga’i atu i Sisifo o Upolu.”
It's always heart-warming to see the incredible spirit of community that thrives across Samoa, and a recent charity run on Upolu truly showcases this. Organised to support the Campus of Hope for abused children, the event saw a fantastic outpouring of generosity from the public. Professional rugby players of Samoan heritage from Australia's A1 training club took on the challenge, running from Tuanaimato to the west of Upolu, covering 38 kilometres on the first day alone.
The Samoa Victim Support Group reported that nearly ten thousand tālā was raised on day one, with donations flowing in from both local residents and online contributions. This kind of widespread support for vulnerable children really highlights the compassionate nature of the community here. It's a wonderful example of how the people of Samoa come together to help those in need, making a tangible difference in the lives of many. This collective effort is just one of the many reasons why Upolu is such a special place, both for its residents and for visitors seeking to experience its vibrant culture and warm hospitality. If you're considering a trip, why not see what's available on Upolu and experience this spirit for yourself?
