Samoa Hosts Australia for Thrilling Netball Series in Apia

Samoa's Invitational netball squad is set to compete against Australia's Under-23 Pathways team in a three-match series this July.

We are delighted to host the Australia Pathways Team on home soil.

Big news for sports fans! Samoa is hosting Australia's Under-23 Pathways team for a three-match netball series right here in Samoa this month. The games, part of the Ocean of Power Tour, are scheduled from 17–20 July at the Tuana’imato Multipurpose Sports Complex, a fantastic facility for such events.

This series is a significant moment for Samoan netball, not just for the exciting competition but also because it doubles as trials for Samoa’s national team, Tifaimoana. They're gearing up for the Oceania Qualifiers for the 2027 Netball World Cup later this year in Tonga. It's wonderful to see our local talent get this opportunity on home soil.

Justine Samu Wilson Ata, CEO of Netball Samoa, shared her delight, noting that “We are delighted to host the Australia Pathways Team on home soil. Usually, we send our teams overseas, so bringing international netball back to Samoa is a proud moment for our community.” This sentiment truly highlights the importance of these matches for developing the sport here.

Both teams will also be involved in community activities alongside the competition, which is a lovely touch and helps foster connections beyond the court. It’s a brilliant chance to see top-tier netball in action and support our athletes as they strive for international success. If you're in the area, head to Apia and catch a game!
