A significant new courthouse complex is under construction in Salelologa, Savai'i, promising enhanced services and convenience for residents.

“O a uma mataupu tau i le faamasinoga e fitoitonu i Savaii, o le a faatino uma i Savaii e aunoa ma le toe tau malaga mai i Mulinui o le mamalu o le atuuu o loo aumau i Savaii.”

We're excited to hear about the progress on the new $17 million courthouse complex currently being built in Salelologa, Savai'i. This substantial project, funded by the Government of Samoa, is set to bring a High Court, District Court, and Land and Titles Court, along with a dedicated residence for judges, to the island. It's a welcome development that will make legal services more accessible for everyone living in Savai'i.

The project is divided into three main phases, with Ah Liki Construction handling the court buildings, New Era Construction Ltd building the judicial accommodation, and Apia Lua Ltd responsible for site landscaping and fencing. With an expected completion date of January 2028, this new facility means residents will no longer need to travel to Upolu for court matters, as all Savai'i-related cases can be heard locally. The Prime Minister's office has stated that the complex will be fully equipped to the highest standards, ensuring excellent facilities for all services. This investment in infrastructure is a positive step for Savai'i, making it an even more self-sufficient and attractive destination.
