Nadi Rugby Secures Major McDonald's Sponsorship for 2026 Season

McDonald's Fiji has announced its largest-ever investment in grassroots rugby, becoming the naming rights sponsor for the Nadi Rugby Union's 2026 season.

Although he did not disclose the value of the sponsorship, McElrath said it was the largest investment McDonald’s had made to the NRU.

It's always great to hear about significant investment in grassroots sports, and this news from Fiji is no exception! McDonald’s Fiji has stepped up to become the naming rights sponsor for the Nadi Rugby Union (NRU) for the 2026 season, marking their largest investment in the union to date. This sponsorship covers the men’s, women’s, and Under-20 rugby teams, showing a strong commitment to developing the sport at all levels.

McDonald's Fiji managing director Marc McElrath shared that this sponsorship reflects the company's long-standing connection with Nadi, where they first opened. He emphasised the desire to 'give back to the community' and create opportunities for players to showcase their talent. With the women's game continuing to grow and the Under-20 programme providing a vital pathway for young players, this support is really crucial.

The NRU has seen considerable growth over the past two years, particularly in administration and coaching, which certainly encouraged McDonald's. It’s inspiring to see such commitment to nurturing local talent and strengthening community ties through sport. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on Nadi rugby!
